EASY FLOOR CLEANING MOP
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is the second one we have had, The first one packed up (the motor I think) but it has been good value especially on stone floors.

No use for carpets!
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
It works pretty well on laminate wood flooring but it does leave the floors quite damp and they take a little while to dry. You may also find that you have to go over the same area a couple of times for any marks or dirt eg entrance area.
As for carpets / rugs – well it didnt like mine, it just gets stuck in the pile which makes it very difficult to move around! Could do with better angled corners so that you can get into the corners of the room but anyway compared to cleaning the floors by hand, it’s a doddle!

Just Don’t Bother
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This item seemed great for six times…then it packed up….regadless of warranty it was useless….ok I live in a hadr water area and Home Tek advised using distilled white vinegar in the water…..it was still no good despite that….I would say…just don’t waste your time and money.

Excellent cleaner for hard floors
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
After trawling lots of review sites for this product I finally decided to purchase one to give it a try. The floors in our home are mainly hard (laminate) and we have ceramic tiles in the kitchen. I wanted a floor cleaner that was easy to use as I have had awful trouble with hard floor washers in the past.
We have a pet dog (muddy/wet paws and we live on a main road (dirty footprints when raining). I have previously had 2 floor washers in the last 2 years and both broke down because they got clogged with dog hair, even though I vacuumed up every piece of hair I could see, the units still got clogged. I also found those units to be bulky and heavy to use which is not very good for someone who has mild tendonitis in my wrists. I reverted back to a microfibre “mop” but it never got the laminate floors clean enough and it was useless on the ceramic tiles.
I have just used the steam mop on our living room floor and I am amazed. It has cleaned it superbly and it is nearly squeaky clean to the touch. There are no streaks at all.
I found the unit very easy to use. It’s very light and it doesn’t make me pull a muscle dragging it around the room! I will mention that the floor was slightly wet for about 3 minutes but has now dried perfectly. There certainly wasn’t any water “floating” around on the floor. The wetness is MUCH less than what would have been on the floor if I had used the previous microfibre “mop”.
I took heed from previous reviewers and bought extra microfibre pads so now have 4, but I will be honest and say that even though it must be 2 months since I last washed/mopped the living room floor, the pad isn’t that dirty.
For me this product is brilliant. It was just what I was looking for.

Home-tek steam mop
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This mop is brilliant on hard floors – I have used it on laminate and vinyl flooring and it cleans really easily – especially after a very muddy dog has left his mark. I was very impressed with it and have used it for the last year with no need to use any chemical cleaners at all. However, it gradually started to take longer and longer to heat up and finally stopped working – just two weeks after the 12 month guarantee expired. I think for around £30 it is good value, especially as you save money on liquid floor cleaners, but would not pay more as I think it has a limited lifespan. I only used it about twice a week so it wasn’t over-used. Maybe I was just unlucky, but I think I might go for something a bit more “heavy duty” next time.

Disappointing
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This was a dreadful disappointment! All it does is wet the floor with luke warm water and hiss alot. You have to move so slowly with it because the steam is generated so slowly that cleaning the floor takes 3 times as long as a normal mop! It leaves streaks and I am not convinced that the small jet of steam from the centre of the mop is sufficient to generate any temperature worthy of attempted sterilisation of any floor surface. Don’t buy it.

Does work; doesn’t last
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I’ve had two of these – I bought a second one because the design had changed so I hoped the later Light ‘n’ Easy would be more robust; it wasn’t.
They do clean well and heat up quickly, these mops – but they are very expensive if you have to buy a new one in under a year! The on/off button gives up very easily, it’s just too flimsy.

Good First Steam Mop
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I have now had 2 of these little cleaners and would say that they do clean very well. It’s quite a shock to see the amount of grime on the cleaning pad that the steam cleaning lifts off of the floor surfaces. The dry steam cleans my high gloss tiles to a smear and mark free shine that I just can’t achieve any other way. The pads also wash well in the washing machine although they do tend to suffer wear and tear particularly if you have tiled floors due to the sharp edges of the tiles. As I say I have now had 2 of these machines as they have both died at around the 6 months mark. I have to agree with the comment about the steam stopping so although the machine appears functional in every other respect I won’t work. However, I live in the Middle East where every floor surface is tiled so I would not have been without this cleaner for the world. Yes, it is quick and easy, it is light to carry around the house and cleans far better and more hygenically than conventional mop, bucket and cleaning fluid. However, I would suggest that it is most suited to small areas as it really is not robust enough to cope with large scale or daily cleaning. With the 2 steam cleaners I have had the problems have always seemed to start around the point where the handle and water reservoir join the mop head. One final thing, this has been a brilliant and inexpensive introduction to steam cleaning. When I bought my first machine I didn’t want to lash out several hundred pounds just to find it wasn’t for me and to have another useless gadet languishing in the back of the cupboard. Now I know that steam cleaning is the way I’ll be cleaning my floors in future. Whilst using these little machines I have had the opportunity to save up for a serious heavy duty domestic steam/vacuum. So yes, give steam cleaning a try this cleaner is worth it alone for that but don’t expect the machine to last indefinitely and buy it a birthday cake if it makes it past 6 months!

Questionable quality
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
After using this just a few times it has broken down. The lights work and it appears to heat-up, and when you press the floor button the pump sounds – but no steam comes out. So not very impressed!

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM SELLER AND AMAZON

Not for carpets
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I have just purchased the steam mop after my neighbour saw one on TV.
What a let down. The cable is short, the steam pad is held on with Velcro
and comes loose when you move it around the floor. I tried it on a short pile nylon carpet and the dirt is still there. All it does is blow out a bit of steam.
Be careful of laminate floors as it can cause them to warp at the edges.
It would be better to hire a carpet cleaner for the day.

I bought it to clean tooth paste from a carpet not grease, not paint, it was useless, didn’t remove any of the toothpaste and didn’t appear to have any cleaning effect on the carpet, another expensive useless gadget, you think I would have learnt by now.

Steam mop
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I am not one to usually write reviews but I’m so impressed with this product. I first saw it demonstrated at the Good Food Show and after several months took the plunge and bought it. So easy to use, lifts even stubborn marks and the floor dries within a few minutes – no more screaming at the family to stay off the floor until it dries. It really is the best purchase that I’ve made in a long time and I’ve recommended it to everyone I know. If you have a lot of tiled floors (I also use mine on a laminate floor) don’t think twice – life will be a lot easier!

Steam Mop
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I bought this steamer at the Ideal Home Show a couple of years ago. I thought it would be a great idea as my house is all tiles and laminate. The sales man at the show said it would leave my floors dry enough to walk on immediately after cleaning. Well – No it didn’t. My floors were sodden and I had to have all the doors and windows open to dry the floors. I paid considerably more for the mop at the show than it’s for sale now and am very disappointed with it.

Good for a few months
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I really liked this mop at first and recommended it to two friends. Although after a few months it stopped steaming. This also happened to one of my friends machines. So only 2 Stars.

It doesn’t work on carpet dirts
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I tried to use the Steam Mop to clean dirts off my carpet. It doesn’t work!!! All it does is just blow the steam and the dirt is still there. If I knew this would happen I will never purchase this and rather pay more for a carpet cleaner!!!

I wouldn’t bother…
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I’ve had the Deluxe Steamer mop for a year or so now and although its good for cleaning laminate, tiled or non carpeted areas, it’s not so good for carpets. I bought extra pads for it because one pad was no good. I came to use it on Monday and the thing literally exploded on me, thankfully I was not seriously injured a few nicks and bruises but suffered bad shock. This has caused a big hole in my kitchen wall where the motor bit hit it and I will not be replacing it. I would check out all reviews prior to buying it.

I was thrilled to receive the product. The delivery was good and the steamer works really well. I would not go back to mopping the floors after using a floor steamer.

Brilliant but………
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Very Good product. Steam cleans the floors, but dirt does build up in corners where it can’t get to, and pitted tiles are hard to clean. A little dtergent solves this. But….mine developed a leak. where the cold water tube goes into the heater. It split. Something fractured the plasctic pipedeep inside and all i could get was cold water dribbling out.
This after 1 year. Heats up very quickly.
September 25th, 2009 at 1:04 pm
Brilliant! Confused by the bad reviews.
The blue ones are far more absorbent and MUCH cheaper….£5.99 for three.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have three dogs, and I bought this as I have to clean my tiled kitchen floor at least three times a day, and worry about pet smells (one dog is a bit old and sometimes piddles.) I found this steam mop to be perfect. My floor dries in seconds, by the time I have moved to the other side of the kitchen the tiles and grout are bone dry. It gets rid of the ingrained dirt in the grout, leaving it the original pale grey. The steam sterilises everything it comes in contact with. You can still move the mop when the blue light is on – and I only go slowly over particularly dirty areas. I like this so much I have bought two – one for our holiday home. But do your self a favour and buy the pads from eBay

Excellent for hard floors
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I purchased one of these mops a few weeks ago and have found it to be an excellent investment. It is perfect for cleaning very dirty tiles and for getting grime out of grouting between tiles, especially for example if flour gets spilled on dark grouting in the kitchen. Nothing else got rid of it except my steam mop. It is very easy to use and leaves the floor to dry quite quickly, much better than a manual mop and easier on the knees than traditional methods. Very easy to just throw the cleaning pad in the washing machine afterwards. I also use it for cleaning laminate flooring, but only good quality type. However I found it useless for cleaning carpets.

Deluxe steam mop Light ‘n’ easy
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Arrived speedily, easy to assemble and use, good head of steam quickly develops and makes lino floors look fab. Is more difficult to use on the carpet with the adapter as this does not ‘click’ into place, it simply sits in it, so the steamer can fall off/out of it easily. The product seems quite flimsily built, so if you have a large floor surface of lino/laminate etc to clean I’m not sure how long it would last with regular use, but as I only have a small surface area to clean – even with my friend using it monthly over her home – I expect it to survive a number of years, but don’t forget to buy extra micromats!.

Steam mop
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is the second Steam Mop that I have purchased and they have both been EXCELLENT
I use the Mop on my WOODEN FLOORS in the house and also on the TILED FLOORS in Kitchen and Conservatory
The first MOP that I purchased was used evey other day and lasted about 4 years.
The results are amazing and the floors are damp dry in minutes

Simple but impressive
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
It comes in a relatively small box – three parts for the handle, a water bottle and the base unit – and fits together in a few minutes. Fill up the bottle with boiled water (recommended so you don’t get scale build up), switch it on, and wait another couple of minutes for the lights to come on. I have to say the first time I turned it on I was sure it was broken. It took ages for the pump to suck the water through – I’d recommend jiggling it a little to help the flow. Once it’s going though there’s a satisfying ‘pssssh’ noise as the steam flows through the pad. It cleans very well indeed and the pads get very grimy so definitely buy the version with spare pads (I get through three doing one floor).
I give it four stars, not five, just because I think the steam could be a little more powerful (you have to glide a bit too slowly to get maximum effect) and the power cable doesn’t reach as far as I’d like – granted my kitchen is quite big, but my vacuum reaches so I don’t see why this shouldn’t.
Don’t let that put you off though. Once you get used to it, it’s just like a mop to use, and far more effective at cleaning linoleum and hardwood floors.

HOME TEK HT824 STEAM MOP
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
THANKS TO THE REVIEWS LEFT BY OTHERS I DECIDED TO BUY THE HOME TEK STEAM MOP. IT’S TRUE IT DOES TAKE 10MINS TO PUT TOGETHER AS USE, I HAVE FOUND IT TO BE JUST WHAT I NEEDED FOR MY LAMINATE FLOORS. THE ONLY MISTAKE I MADE WAS NOT TO ORDER EXTRA PADS!!

Superb Item
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This mop was delivered to me yesterday and wihin 10 minutes I was using it.
It is brillant! It will bring your laminate floor up a treat, without making it to damp. All my floors look and feel lovely and clean.
I used to have a Karcher steam cleaner that did a similar thing. However, it was such a pain to use. It would take ages to heat up and the cloth would never really stay in place.
This mop is the total opposite, it heats up in now time, it is quick and easy to use and hardley takes up any storage space!
The cloth provided is brilliant, but you only get one. They seem good quality and are machine washable. Replacement/spare ones can be purchased from the internet for around £10.
Go on, treat yourslef, it almost makes housework enjoyable!

I liked this product very much. I found it cleaned my white kitchen floor tiles very well. The only downfall with this steamer is that the flex is not long enough to reach to the other end of the room.

Easy to use
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I`m very happy with this item. I read all the other reviews before purchase and agree with them completely. It heats up very quickly and is very simple to use. Unlike reviews I`ve read about other steam mops this one doesn`t leave pools of water on the floor and so far the mop has worked efficiently. I did order extra cloths but that isn`t essential to it`s use.

Steam Mop
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I gave this 5 stars because I wanted it to clean hard floors with, and thats exactly what it does very well, I can’t comment on how it does on carpets.
It certainly made light work of tiles and laminates, not too much water sloshing around and what there was dried quickly. Made fast work of what is normally one of my least favourite jobs!!!

Save your money!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I got sucked in by the clver advertising of this item and 14 months down the line regret it! It has stopped working after not much regular use, halfway through cleaning a large room.
The sound of the motor and heating up element reminded me of an old DAF car which everyone said worked by elastic bands, you had to have several of the floor cloths handy as they get soaking very easily. Very, very, disappointed with my purchase

Buyers Beware!
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Be warned! Although the mop is great for cleaning tiled floors (OK on carpets), this is the second mop I have had in the last three years. Both broke down just after the year’s warranty. I contacted Hometek who told me that because I live in an area of hard water I should have used distilled water in the resevoir. They now sell the product with crystals to compensate for this, so it is obviously a problem that has been encountered before. As the product was out of warranty Hometek were not interested – tough luck basically!
